Commitment to Anti-Oppression

Here at the Northeast Ohio branch of the IWW we feel that any labor movement that fails to account for minority voices is not only failing to uphold the ideals of solidarity, but is also weakening itself by alienating some of its most likely supporters. Passivity in the face of unjust systems allows those systems to continue to produce their oppressive results unabated. We need to not only understand unjust systems, but to take action against them. Therefore, we are committed to anti-oppression work and creating a safer space for all who wish to come together in solidarity around labor organizing.

The IWW has a safer spaces policy which establishes some community guidelines and a protocol for addressing violations. These can be found here.
